I really only wear black nail polish, and of all the brands I have tried I am now a hardcore fan of Maybelline Colorshow Blackout (shade 667). Considering I have quite short nails it can pass off as a one-coater, but I usually do two just to make it last longer. It's one of the only black nail polishes I have used that doesn't really chip, and it can peel off in one piece after a few weeks of wear. It dries very quickly, particularly with the first coat. The only potential downside, although this is something I actually prefer in a nail polish, is its slightly thinner consistency, so you do need to just be a little careful of flooding the cuticles. Hands down my favourite black nail polish - good colour, easy application, quick drying, very difficult to chip off.

I’m 49 and love a good MLBB shade, and if I could have the money back for all the times I’ve bought what I hoped would be a perfect color, I’d be rich! But finally...this is it. I’m NC20-25, brunette (with salt and pepper grey) and fairly pigmented lips. This is literally my lips but better. It looks like my lips but just evened out, creamier, and refined. It has a hint more brown than my natural lips which is what I love (so many shades go kind of orangey on me) and it has tiny micro shimmers so it isn’t flat. This is ano-brained, perfect for anything lipstick that I am going to buy two more of the next time I see a good sale.

I have several of these polishes, I got them on sale for $1 each. The darker colours (Blackout, Broadway Blues, Mauve It) are one coaters for me which is impressive. Latte (a nice nude) and 130 (? Baby) need 2 coats but when they dry so quickly, that's really not an issue. The only thing I'd change is to either make the cap skinnier or the entire bottle and brush shaft longer because with such a fat cap and short shaft, it kind of gets in the way a bit.
