Zyxel GS1100 16 Port Gigabit Unmanaged Switch

Worked well for a couple of years then died. Contacted ZyXel and of course out of warranty.

I have used various models of Zyxel products and am totally impressed with the reliability, the product's finish and even the practical packaging.

Item failed with only 3 months use... Zyxel Will not RMA as this item was originally manufactured in 2013... Item was listed as NEW but Was Not new... Manufactured in 2013. Attempting to Return for Replacement but have not figured how to accomplish.

I used about 14 of the 16 ports on this switch daily for about 5 years. It worked great for 5 years with no need to ever cycle the power on it. It recently died with no warning at all. All of the ethernet lights stopped blinking and the power light changed from solid to blinking. I tried cycling the power on the unit and now the power light is solid but i'm still not able to transfer data through the switch. I have changed this switch out with a working unit and the packets are flowing again.

I almost feel bad for this switch... It lives its life in an enclosed box that's located outside, with the sun shining on it 7 hours a day. It gets hot in that box, but the switch keeps on working with no complaints.
