I just bought this switch couple days ago. Right after I received it, I immediate yank out my Netgear gs-16 switch that just did not have enough port for my home but nothing wrong except not enough port. The Zyxel GS 1920-24 GUI is really not intuitive. Even an engineer still need to download the manual from internet and read at least 2 to 3 minutes in order to get 1. firmware upgrade 2. VLAN configured and ports are associated to proper vlan settings. Other than the GUI is not as friendly as CISCO, Juniper or even Netgear, linksys, there is nothing wrong with this switch. IN fact it performed very well and I give it 5 star as for a 24 port switch with management feature and enough horse power for throughput and reasonable latency, this is definitely a product to own and rely on for your home/small business networking. I returned this switch because I didn’t like the web GUI. The web GUI is nothing like Dell, Netgear, or Ubiquiti. I addition, Zyxel is slow to release firmware updates. As of now, the latest firmware for this switch was released on 12/02/2015. I recommend saving a few more dollars to buy a different switch.

I had a few issues setting this up at first since it was my second switch on the new or and I had to configure STP. Otherwise it has been a great switch. I only wish they made a fan less 48 port, but I know that is asking too much.

Web interface fails and locks up randomly- Zyxel switches are cannot keep up a moderate network. They simply are impossible to manage...

I think this is more of an upgrade to the 1900, with the 1910 being separate and more for enterprise as it has a console port.
