De Onkyo TX-8220 is een stereoreceiver voor wie een eenvoudige audio-opstelling zoekt met twee kanalen, Bluetooth, phono-ingang en aansluiting voor twee speakerparen. De 45 W per kanaal maakt hem geschikt voor normaal dagelijks luisteren in kleinere of middelgrote ruimtes. Voor grote kamers, hoge volumes of surroundgebruik zijn de prestaties en aansluitmogelijkheden beperkter.

This is an excellent receiver for its price point. Lots of connection options, great sound and easy to use. Loved my Onkyo so much that I bought a second one for the rec room. Best vale in a stereo receiver that I could find. I highly recommend it.

I had an old Onkyo analog receiver, so I knew the brand was of high quality, and this new one is just what I wanted. I converted my CDs to a computer, and I still had Bose analogue speakers, and the system works great.

I have a large record and CD collection but have never been a HiFi buff, relying for years on a Sony tower system. However, when the Sony amplifier blew up I thought I would try this, and it was clear immediately that the sound quality is far superior. It is difficult to describe exactly, but I would say that the sound is crisper and better defined. Anyway, I have been missing out for a while so I am now working my way through my collection. I added a new turntable, but so far have kept the Sony CD player and speakers. Everything works well - DAB, bluetooth, etc. The instruction manual is excellent, and setting up was reasonably straightforward. Packaging was excellent, but the 'Prime' delivery was several days late, as expected for Hermes.

The system is very easy to use, although the manual doesn't go into enough details (for someone not familiar with electronics) regarding using the remote for selections of other connected pieces. I may be the only person who doesn't have a smart phone, but you need one to attach cordless headphones, for example.
