If you’ve not upgraded your router in a while – or your ISP is too stingy to send you a newer up-to-date model – then the Tenda AC10U AC1200 might be what you need while you’re waiting to switch services. It’s very reasonably priced, and easy to set up and use, too.

This has been really good as our house has everything in the wrong place so we can't connect to the router directly. Works a treat and has been an absolute saviour for the home office. Really, really easy to set up but beware of just yanking it out to use a USB port it crashes the computer with unforeseen consequences. Great if you're careful about using it.

Cheap wi-fi dongle, easy set up, just plug and play, perfect for the job required.

Don't bother getting anything else, this is the real deal. I got my first one from Canada and was amazed by its performance.

Ordered this one but the so-called better one arrived: W522U. A dual band one. The signal was pretty poor - 3 bars despite the fact that I'm only upstairs and directly above the router. There were issues with the software; the computer would have the BSOD when I plugged it and unplugged it sometimes. This would need to be done when starting up the computer, as it would be recognised but there would be an error symbol on the WiFi icon and it would not connect. Returned it and bought a much better Asus USB N53 which I have had no problems with whatsoever.
