De Philips S5884/38 Series 5000 wordt geprezen om zijn krachtige en comfortabele scheerresultaat, vooral voor mensen met een gevoelige huid. Het apparaat is geschikt voor zowel nat als droog scheren en kan onder de douche gebruikt worden. De batterijduur van 60 minuten en de snelle oplaadfunctie zijn handige pluspunten. De flexibele scheerkoppen zorgen voor een gladde scheerbeurt en het apparaat is stil en makkelijk schoon te maken. Nadelen zijn dat de trimmer niet goed vast blijft zitten bij bepaalde hoeken, het apparaat niet gebruikt kan worden tijdens het opladen, en dat het soms moeite heeft met erg dikke baarden. Ook ontbreekt een reinigingsstation bij het standaardmodel, wat voor sommigen een gemis kan zijn.

My old electric razor broke after about 20 years of use so I chose another Phillips. Shaves close and lasts a reasonable time between charges. Good all round product.

I have had 3 Phillips razors in the past the first more than 30 years ago was fault less coming with a had quite elegant case as well as cleaning accessories, it lasted for many,many years with no problems at all. I couldn’t praise this enough, and that being the case I have only ever bought Philips replacements. Each one has been a little less good. I have now had my latest one bought for me as a gift and cannot understand the difference in the quality, especially as you now have to purchase the charger/ lead separately, most people I am sure would assume you received a charger/ lead as part of your purchase, it’s not as though previous leads fit this model.This has really put me off buying Phillips again, I am very disappointed with this purchase.

I have had exactly the same shaver for a couple of years & decided to buy another for my holiday property in Spain. I took the old one to Spain & kept the new one here. Oddly the new one, although good, doesn't seem to shave as close as the old one. I am putting this down to the fact it is new & maybe needs 'running in'.Reviews such as this tend to show my wife as the author!

Having finally upgraded from the old 3000 model to the 5000, I have found the new shaver to be a significant improvement. I now get a very smooth shave and takes less time to do so than the previous shaver. The reason I have only given four stars is because of the time it sometimes takes me to fit in the blades after cleaning. The locking of the final piece of a blade in particular can be very time consuming and does not always lock in properly. This may be that I am a "senior citizen" and as time goes on I may hopefully find the refitting easier.
