De Philips Shaver 1000 S1142/00 biedt een betrouwbare, gladde scheerbeurt door de PowerCut-mesjes en is volledig waterdicht, waardoor schoonmaken eenvoudig is. De ergonomische grip zorgt voor comfort, en het apparaat is geschikt voor zowel gezicht als hoofd. Veel gebruikers waarderen de prijs-kwaliteitverhouding. Nadelen zijn de relatief zwakke motor, vooral bij dikker haar, en de lange oplaadtijd van 8 uur voor slechts 40 minuten gebruik. Het scheerresultaat is minder glad dan bij duurdere modellen en je kunt het apparaat niet gebruiken tijdens het opladen. Over het algemeen is dit een solide keuze voor wie een basis scheerapparaat zoekt, maar wie meer kracht of een gladder resultaat wil, kan beter verder kijken.

I predominantly use this shaver for my head and I always have to do a wet shave using another brand three blade razor. I am experienced with electric shavers and this is the 1st phillips one I have bought. I have a number of electric shavers best in my opinion by far is the Remington, then the braun series 5, then the phillips, then last 2 being a platinum pro Pitbull and also a Baldy, which does not live up to its name.

It is easy to use, although not always as close a shave as I would like. The cover cap does not fit well and comes off regularly.

CI can't fault the razor init's own right, but I do miss not having the side trimmer.
