De Remington R1 Style Series R1000 is populair vanwege zijn dubbele mesjes die sneller scheren mogelijk maken en de handige pop-up trimmer voor detailwerk. Het apparaat is USB-C oplaadbaar en biedt 30 minuten draadloos gebruik, wat handig is voor onderweg. Uit meerdere reviews blijkt echter dat het scheerapparaat moeite heeft met zware of stugge baardgroei en dat de scheerprestatie bij een gevoelige huid kan tegenvallen. De lange oplaadtijd van 8 uur voor slechts 30 minuten gebruik wordt vaak als nadeel genoemd. Ook is het apparaat alleen geschikt voor droog scheren en kan het niet gebruikt worden tijdens het opladen. Overweeg deze punten als je een gevoelige huid hebt of een zeer glad resultaat verwacht.

I haven't had this razor a year and the head fell apart. The mount for the hinge broke off and the release bottom fell out all at the same time. It's like the plastic has just become brittle and I noticed the silver finish is peeling off too. Up until now I thought it was an OK razor, now it's in the trash. As mentioned in the previous review, the power button is not the best and in the wrong place, your finger turns it off just from gripping the razor while shaving. I had another self cleaning model Remington before this one, the cleaning pump quit in a year with that one! Is Remington making 1 year use razors now?? I'm going back to the old trusty Norelco that I've had for 3 years now, charged it up over night and worked like a champ this morning.

The shave is good. In my opinion the on/off button is very fragile and will have to handled gingerly. It's quite a bit bulky with the cleaning stand but seems to clean well in the cleaning cycle. If razer is not left in the charging stand it will not hold a charge overnight when left on the counter and turned off. Overall, better than a manual shave.
