De Oakley MOD1 is een lichtgewicht ski- en snowboardhelm met een laag profiel, geïnspireerd op skatehelmen, waardoor hij nauwelijks opvalt tijdens het dragen maar toch voldoet aan moderne veiligheidseisen.[3][11][19] Dankzij de in-mold constructie, het MIPS-systeem en het BOA 360° Fit System krijgt de gebruiker een veilige, stabiele pasvorm en extra bescherming tegen rotatiekrachten bij schuine impacts.[3][9] Gebruikers waarderen vooral het lage gewicht, de eenvoudige stijl en de gemakkelijke Fidlock-sluiting, al wordt soms genoemd dat de voering wat dun kan aanvoelen en dat de basisventilatie en features eenvoudiger zijn dan bij de duurdere MOD1 Pro, MOD3 of MOD5 varianten.[5][11][13][15]

I tried this helmet on with and without the gator I normally ski with. It fit perfectly with the gator and, after easily tightening the helmet while wearing it, then it fit perfectly without the gator, too. Can't wait to to get out on the mountain next season!

I purchased this ski helmet, excited to finally try skiing with it for the first time. However, my experience quickly turned from excitement to fear due to a critical failure of this helmet during my very first use. As the picture shows, the helmet cracked almost completely through after what should have been a manageable fall. This level of damage is unacceptable for a product meant to protect your head during high-impact sports. The integrity of the helmet's material was clearly subpar, leaving me questioning its safety standards. A helmet is a crucial safety tool for skiing, and this one failed spectacularly when I needed it most. Fortunately, I wasn't seriously injured, but this incident could have ended much worse. I cannot recommend this product to anyone and strongly urge the manufacturer to reevaluate the design and materials used. Safety should never be compromised, and this product missed the mark entirely. Do not risk your well-being with this helmet!

I measured my head and the helmet fit my head perfectly. But the ear flaps stuck out too far and are not flush to my ears. They would not keep my ears warn. Returned.

This Oakley Mod I Pro is a fantastic fit for my husband. He especially likes the ear pockets because he's sensitive to getting his ears squished.
