I bought this tripod last week and went out to test it the day I got it. It is very sturdy and very well built. It has a lot of features to it and I haven't used the tripod to it's full potential just yet. I like the idea it is a monopod built into one of the legs. The only criticism I would have is the centre column is not easily reversible at first but once you work out how it fits then there is no issue at all, the clamp on the centre column makes me trust it and sure that my expensive camera won't go crashing to the floor. I defiantly think the tripod is worth the money and for someone who wants to get a bit more advanced.

I purchased this tripod from Vistek and have used it for wildlife and macro photography for about a year. It has good height but is light and compact enough (especially with the ability to fold the legs around the head to reduce length) to be taken on a short hike or packed into airline luggage. Overall my experience has been positive, but be careful when using the post horizontally for macro or other photography. The knob that fixes the angle of the post is quite small and fiddly. Sometimes you think it is tight, but then it can break lose with the weight of the camera. Always support the post with your hand until you are absolutely sure it is secure, otherwise the camera may come down with a thump on the object you are trying to photograph.
