I recently needed to shoot natural history on the seashore, walking long distances over sand and climbing over rocks. I needed gear that was lightweight and not a financial tragedy if it got broken or killed with salt water. I used this tripod with an AX53. Heavy pro gear makes better pictures, but try carrying 15 kilos over jagged limestone boulders. Of course this lightweight combo was a trade off, but it meant the difference between getting shots or not. It's a bit shaky at the long end of the lens, so hands off when doing tele shots, but it does remarkably well for the rest of it. It's the best tool I've found for this job.

I got this tripod to work with my new Sony RX10 IV. I developed an essential tremor at 17 years old and it's gotten progressively worse over the last 43 years. I find myself needing a tripod more often than I used to. I have the VCT-680RM and although it's a little heavier and more sturdy, it is not compatible with the RX10. I read other reviews that said this was a light, flimsy tripod and not worth the money. I disagree, at least for my purpose. I wanted something fairly light for packing into the woods and mountains. This is ideal. It works well with the RX10 for video and stills and the fact that the remote is removable takes my shaky hand completely off the camera and tripod. I find the dampened head to be smooth. If you want to shoot in 50MPH winds this may not be the tripod for you, but I am completely satisfied. For this price point I think it is a good tripod. B & H promised delivery on Monday 8/13 at it arrived Friday 8/10. I was thrilled!

I am satisfied with this tripod, It has a camera video control on handle. It is necessary to be very careful, because tripod is not heavy duty, particular with heavy cameras it can be a problem. For video cameras it is excellent tool. It is designed for Sony camcorder, though with other cameras can be used. Size of tripod is good as well as weight when you have to carry it the whole day long.

I bought this for the remote control not the tripod. As you would expect the tripod isn't very impressive at this price. It us usable for stills but not adequate for video with pan and tilt. The remote control is much more useful and allows you to select fast or slow zoom speed. The slow speed is pretty slow but allows a uniform speed when panning and tilting. The other remotes I've tried are supposedly variable speed but are very difficult to get a smooth zoom rate. Using with a7r3 and a6500 both 18-105 and 28-135 Sony power zooms.
