If you are looking for a very lightweight and compact tripod that still give you decent extension, then this is perfect. I have several of these and they are perfect for traveling or even just making less stuff to carry to jobs. Of course, you cant put a heavy light on it, but flexible LEDs or smaller heads work fine. I use it for light LED panels, small heads and also camera monitors.

Im buying it again. light and compact but solid to handle speed lights, with a small softbox of magmod accesories.

I use these as microphone stands for audio recording and need to have a complete kit there at the other end when I fly to sessions. So these are perfect for carry-on or simply as a small, lightweight option for any situation. Of course theyre not as stable as heavier stands, nor do they go as high, but if their dimensions suit your purpose, you cnat miss with these babies! I know there are also less costly imported alternatives, but have not seen them and cant really put my faith in anything but a name brand item such as Manfrotto. Highly recommended.!

These are one of the few light stands that will fit in a standard carry on size bag. The reverse folding mechanism is a little more difficult to open, and having five extendable sections is also a little tedious, but I find that the space and weight savings are worth it. Locks are knobs (that appear to be good quality plastic), feet have rubber tips, and with a Yongnuo 600 EX RT-II and large Rogue Flashbender it is stable up to max height
