De Philips The One 50PUS8909 biedt een uitstekende beeldkwaliteit dankzij de P5-processor en brede HDR-ondersteuning, wat zorgt voor levendige kleuren en vloeiende bewegingen. Gamers profiteren van een hoge verversingssnelheid, VRR en FreeSync, waardoor games soepel en responsief zijn. De 3-zijdige Ambilight voegt echt iets toe aan de kijkervaring. Wel zijn het contrast en de zwartwaarden beperkt door het paneeltype, en is de HDR-helderheid wat aan de lage kant, waardoor HDR-effecten minder krachtig zijn in fel verlichte ruimtes. Bij donkere scènes kan lichte clouding optreden. Het geluid is prima voor normaal gebruik, maar voor een echte bioscoopervaring is een externe geluidsoplossing aan te raden. Het Titan OS is snel en overzichtelijk, met toegang tot alle grote streamingdiensten. Over het algemeen is dit een veelzijdige tv met veel functies, maar wie topcontrast of diepe HDR zoekt, vindt elders betere alternatieven.

Bought this TV in November of 2024 and it has already started to get numerous dark patches at the top of the screen which is noticeable when the top of the screen is light in colour (i.e. Skies, Grass) and is even worse when during the programme you are watching the camera pans. There is also a white spot on the screen in the bottom right. I have attached photos to this review. This to me looks like an issue with the backlight. After researching this issue it seems like this is a common issue with Philips TV's and other customers have also been given the same old 'dust/smoke particle' excuse by customer service. It is just not acceptable and I will be contacting UK Trading Standards if this issue isn't resolved as I am still under my 12 month warranty. This is my first (and last) Philips TV.

Television is fine but there is lug missing from the battery compartment of the controller so the cover slips off and have been unable to find a phone number to contact you to get it replaced. There is a slit on the battery compartment for the lug to go in but it appears that there was never one put on the cover - there is not a mark where it should be.

I was eyeing this TV for months and it doesn't disappoint. The ambilight is incredible, the picture quality is lovely (a perfect set up from my 15 year old TV) and I couldn't be happier

Prachtig beeld gemakkelijk in te stellen. Na diverse Philips toestellen uitgeweken naar een ander merk, maar nu weer een Philips met Ambilight. Geweldig heel mooi, voor mij nooit weer een ander merk.

I’ve been using the Philips Ambilight TV 50PUS8909 for a bit now, and overall, I’m pretty happy with it. The Ambilight effect is awesome—it really adds to the viewing experience and makes movie nights feel way more immersive. Definitely one of the coolest features about this TV.That said, I was a little disappointed to find out that you can’t sync it with other Philips Hue products to extend the lighting effect throughout the room. I thought that would be a no-brainer, but nope. A bit of a letdown, honestly.As for the picture quality, it’s very decent—sharp and vibrant, no complaints there. The sound, on the other hand, is just average, like most TVs. But since I’m using a home cinema setup, it doesn’t really matter to me.If you’re into Ambilight and want solid visuals, this is a good pick. Just don’t expect too much from the sound or Hue integration.
