felt lined inside and inclusion of a lock is nice, but the build is quite cheap and flimsy. The plastic piece that houses the lock mechanism cracked rendering mine useless. Fixed with superglue so I dont have to spend 50 bucks buying another one.

Doesnt fit right, doesnt stay on, is over priced. Needs a total redesign, probably should be metal, should attached tighter.

In early March 2018 I had this on my 24-70 when the tripod tipped over with the Canon 5D mounted on it, lens attached. I was surprised that the hood was snapped in two at one of the narrow points after hitting the granite floor of an observation platform. I ordered a new one that arrived during the five days I had before the next photo workshop. I had the tripod in my hand, 5D attached with the 24-70 and replacement lens hood when I face-planted into the Arizona desert. My nose hit at the same time as the camera/lens/tripod. My nose was only scraped but this time the replacement lens hood was pulverized--exploded to dust. A fellow workshop member pointed to a large piece I might want for my collection. The nose healed in two weeks and the second new hood in a month arrived in a few days. I thought, for the money, the hood would be nearly indestructible. I still gave it two stars because of its role in breaking the fall.

I received this package in a timely manner, everything is as expected. It is a replacement, no problems with fit or quality.

When it comes to parts like this, it is key that they work 100%. It perfect locks in position and gives us professionals what we need.
