Marantz CD6007 Noir

I have been thinking of a CD player for a while now. Thought of a Denon to match my Amp but ended up picking the Marantz. I am not at all sorry. it sounds great and actually looks really well with the amp. I would recommend this CD player to anyone looking in the price range below £500. and this £150 below that.

I recently bought a new Marantz CD player to replace my ageing old one.I am very pleased with the performance.The service I received over the phone and in store was professional and friendly I would certainly recommend Richer Sounds.

I’ve owned several players over the years, including Sony, Marantz, Rega, Denon, and Rotel. I have now been using this player for over a year, and can tell you that the sound quality is absolutely exceptional, as a player and as a transport (sometimes used with a X-DAC V3/X-PSU/X-10D set-up, which I still prefer BTW). However, I have somewhat of a beef with the advertising. A few retailers, and the manufacturer still advertise the 6007 as using the AK4490 DAC; this seems to be false. All side notes, and manufacturers disclaimers aside, the AKM factory had a fire in 2021, and could not supply Marantz with the 4490 chip. Marantz then decided to use ESS Technology’s ES9010K2M DAC chip alternatively. That is what is in the 6007’s since 2021, give or take a few months. It’s been 5 years! The Sabre is a good chip, and sounds wonderful! Please update the specs with the accurate/proper/legitimate information to reflect the change.

Excellent service, marantz cd6007 a very Excellent player. Crystal clear sound with marantz pm6007 amp. Would recommend richer sounds.
