Panasonic Lumix DC-FZ82DE-K

Far better camera than its price might suggest. I had one before and traded it in for a more expensive camera from a different brandwhich had too many areas where the FZ82 outshone it - long range and autozoom. So took a loss on the expensive one and went back to the FZ82. Easy to use.

This item was purchased specifically for taking primarily wildlife photographs and landscapes. The camera is lightweight and with a telephoto lens makes the camera suitable for hiking long distances whilst photographing wildlife.

This camera is capable of good results in all the genres of photography I am keen on. The pricing is keen, and the only omission for me is no USB or WiFi connectivity.

I bought this four months ago to complement my existing Canon 77D as the 1200 mm lens should be better than the 18-200 on the Canon for wildlife shots. I have taken it away on trips twice now and there seems to be a fault in either the software or the camera. Every time I turn it on, the auto focus area that I have previously set has not been retained by the camera. The yellow-bordered resize window appears instead of the AF frame or the AF area has moved from the centre of the screen to either the top left or bottom right of the screen. This is most annoying, as the camera has to be reset before use. Point and shoot it is not! The lack of a lens hood is annoying, as is the lack of an available battery charger for off-camera charging. Oh, and taking pictures in overcast weather (a typical British summer's day) resulted in every shot being woefully underexposed.
