The machine is nice and solid, the basic instructions are ok but could do with a bit more explanation as to how parts work, especially the cappuccino section regarding frothy milk, it’s a bit unclear to say the least. Otherwise it makes a nice espresso.

Takes a bit of getting used to. Once I'd learnt to warm through the filter holder & heat up my cup, used the double cup filter to make one cup (single cup doesn’t hold enough enough ground coffee for one cup) and retrieved the rubber filter disc from the compost bin (fell out when banging out the dried grounds from earlier in the day), I got a decent cuppa. Will need to try with full-fat or semi-skimmed milk (they recommend min. 1.5% fat) as frothing skimmed milk comes out a bit watery. TIP: check you’ve still got the rubber-edged filter disc in the coffee holder handle thing when you put your coffee in - if it’s missing, nothing will come out when you switch to ‘brew’ and you’ll get a semi-explosion of hot water & wet coffee grounds when you try and take the handle thing out again!

It is my first automated coffee maker so I am not the best judge. It takes a little learning and getting the strength to personal taste. Only using ground coffee so far. According to instructions one can only put one scoop of coffee in at a time so a double shot is two cycles. I've only had it a week though.
