Dvd Last Vegas

Four school friends reunite for a stag party in Vegas, where groom Billy (Douglas) immediately falls for a lounge singer (Steenburgen). Frail but feisty Archie (Freeman) hits the jackpot and gets VIP treatment, along with Billy, widower Paddy (De Niro) and their married friend Sam (Kline).

Last Vegas is nothing more then an offshoot of the successful Hangover Trilogy, only this movie features some Legendary players who together have built a massive filmography and legions of fans. Last Vegas also happens to be one hell of a fun flick. Douglas/Freeman/De Niro/Kline work well together chewing up the scenes and having a blast. Hard to imagine these guys have never worked together before this. The movie itself is by no means a classic, but it sure is well made, acted and directed. Sony's blu features and very good PQ & AQ presentation with a nice once over amount of special features. Bottom line a must for fans of these four actor's and newcomers alike!

Despite its cast's fine pedigree, Last Vegas is a corny and uninspired series of old men jokes that fails to entertain with any regularity. Its moderate box office success seems more attributable to star power and the target demographic's taste for PG-13 comedy than the film's value.

While it's far more calculated and tame than your average trip to Sin City, Last Vegas has no trouble coasting on the strengths of its ensemble cast. Though they'd never worker together before, De Niro, Douglas, Freeman and Kline have terrific chemistry…at least enough to soften up the film's less necessary moments. At the very least, this film's heart outweighs the softball "Bingo and Bengay" jokes. Sony's Blu-ray offers a decent amount of a support, although its high quality A/V presentation outshines the relatively lackluster bonus features. Those new to the film may want to stick with a rental, but anyone who's already seen Last Vegas should consider this release a safe bet. Recommended .
