If updated special effects are your thing, you may well prefer this version of Perseus' tale to the older one with those "old school" Harryhausen effects. This effort has pretty much everything that money can buy, including an A list cast, but it's still kind of listless a lot of the time. Technical merits are generally solid and the supplements very appealing, for anyone who may be considering making a purchase.

Pity. The film is incredible, cult for many. The website, the reviews, exposes very well the good and bad sides of the blu-ray edition. But I hope to see a high-quality remaster of the film if possible in 4K, with an elimination of the grain, sometimes too disturbing. At a time when many classics are getting a second life, all of Ray Haryhaussen's films, and particularly this one, deserve exceptional quality work. It is a testament and the mark of a change of era. Fantastic!

Half-man, half-god Perseus (Worthington) is raised by kindly fisher folk, but when they are killed by Hades (Fiennes) - collateral damage in the war between men and gods - he sets forth on a perilous revenge quest to find his destiny, rescue a princess and resolve his issues with his father Zeus (Neeson), king of the gods.

The movie wasn't bad, not great. It has enough Big Stars to carry it through, The 3D ..bad !!! Whats with the double heads . I saw this in I Robots also. Stick with the 2D version

I watched this 3D version the other night. It was way better than the first movie. The story line was very good where the venture had come full circle. Saying that, I don’t believe there’s a sequel on the horizon, since Zeus was killed off. The bad had turned to good, the granddaddy of them all had been put in his place and life can return to normal. For visual effects, I would give the 3D effort a 4.0 since there were no pop-outs that blew me away. The acting receives a good solid 4.0 since no one is perfect and everyone did play their parts very well. The audio was very good. I’d give audio a 4.5. There were a couple of spots that I thought the sound should have been more in tune with the movie. All in all, I’d say if you are an avid 3D collector, I’d get this one for the library. Like me, you’ll probably end up watching it again in the not too far off future. Grab a bucket of opcorn: and an Orange Crush and enjoy the flick. opcorn:
