Band Hero is vooral populair als gezins- en partygame dankzij de toegankelijke gameplay en flexibele multiplayeropties. De game biedt veel content, verschillende modi en werkt met veel bestaande instrumenten. De tracklist is echter relatief klein en sterk gericht op popmuziek, wat niet iedereen aanspreekt. Extra kosten voor het importeren van nummers en kalibratieproblemen bij sommige instrumenten zijn veelgehoorde minpunten. De grafische stijl wordt als generiek ervaren. Voor casual spelers en gezinnen is het een leuke keuze, maar muziekliefhebbers die meer diepgang zoeken, kunnen beter verder kijken.

I used to have the game for my Wii but had gotten rid of it. Recently, I was missing the game and how fun it was to play so I bought a used version for my Xbox. I opened it and noticed off the bat that the set was dirty and dusty. I didn’t mind that but then as I was setting everything up, I noticed the one of the drumsticks was broken, splintered and taped together. I was disappointed but tried not to mind it too much. I was absolutely gutted to find out when I connected everything and got to playing that a part of my favorite instrument of the game, the drums, was not working (one of the cymbals, and yes I looked up how to fix it but it was falling apart). That was the final straw for me as I paid $235 for a used-‘excellent’ condition but it was pretty much the opposite. So sad to have to return this but it not much use broken. Note: none of these damages were disclaimed in the description!

The Taylor Songs were older, so my daughter didn't know them. We did enjoy the Spice Girls and a few other songs, but for the most part, the song selection wasn't that great.
