Grado RS2x (F-pads) Im a firm believer in burn-in... psychological burn-in. Why fight so hard to maintain an imaginary reference sound that is unverified accurate but just what you're used to. I dont think any of my headphones are perfect and all of them are various forms of compromises anyway. I like each of my headphones for their differences. Many from my age group started with iPod earbuds, that was our reference. We then experience and learn and our perception keeps changing and evolving. Yesterday's Hi-FI is today's MID-FI. Yesterday's holy grail is today's major inconvenience. ...

As expected excellent lively sound from RS2e and getting better as they break in, More comfortable than my RS1s.

I cannot praise these headphones high enough.I use a cd Walkman and the detail of the music is astonishing,even at low volumes.I find them very light and comfortable to wear. The only downside is the price,but personally for all the hours of enjoyment rediscovering my collection it is worth it.

Absolutely fabulous open-back headphones. Excellent reproduction of sounds across the whole frequency range when driven by a competent amp. A good step up from the SR80 I used previously.

Received these this afternoon and haven't been able to stop using them, I mainly listen to rock and metal and these are the perfect headphones for me. I can only compare it to the difference between tape and cd.. I have to listen to my whole library again as I'm hearing things I didn't before, bear in mind they need a good amp behind them imho, I'm using a Yamaha rxv1300 and a Marantz ki sig so it's not a problem but I'm not sure they would work as well of an ipod's internal amp. The only thing I miss is the bass in the chest feeling from my Kef floor-standers but these are a very close second, worth every penny!
