De Thrustmaster TH8S Shifter is een betaalbare en veelzijdige keuze voor simracers die een H-patroon shifter zoeken. Het apparaat werkt op PC en consoles met veel verschillende stuurwielen, dankzij USB en DIN aansluitingen. De metalen schakelstang en sportknop zorgen voor een nauwkeurige en snelle schakeling, en je kunt de weerstand aanpassen voor een persoonlijk gevoel. Wel voelt de plastic knop minder premium aan en is er geen sequentiële modus, wat sommige gebruikers als een nadeel ervaren. Ook kan het geluid en de lichte actie storend zijn, vooral bij intensief gebruik. Mis-shifts komen soms voor door het gebrek aan duidelijke feedback, maar dit neemt af na gewenning. Over het algemeen is de TH8S een solide instapmodel voor wie een betaalbare, veelzijdige shifter zoekt.

At this price, you obviously can't expect miracles. It's made entirely of plastic and feels more like a toy than a real gear lever. But for those who want to have fun with a manual gearbox on their favourite simulation, it's an excellent purchase. The dual connectivity (for connection to a Thrustmaster base or via USB-C) means you can look to the future with confidence. Perhaps the 7th gear wasn't necessary after all...

I think my gearbox is really excellent for the price, it's really good. The gear changes on Assetto are excellent, and on ETS 2 too. I still need to test it with City Car Driving. I don't regret my purchase.

The shifter itself works well however it was broken out of the box. The red part on top with all the gear numbers and the leather dust guard thing was fully snapped off
