De Yamaha HS5 staat bekend om zijn neutrale, gedetailleerde weergave en is zeer geschikt voor studiogebruik. De bouwkwaliteit is uitstekend en het bi-amp systeem zorgt voor een helder geluid. Dankzij Room Control en High Trim kun je het geluid aanpassen aan de ruimte. Nadelen zijn het gebrek aan diepe bas, hoorbare ruis en beperkte aansluitingen. Voor producers die nauwkeurigheid zoeken is dit een topkeuze, maar voor luisterplezier of basliefhebbers is een subwoofer aan te raden.

These studio monitors are very good. I was looking for a small speaker for music practice at low volume that would be an accurate representation of what it might sound like at full volume. The HS5 does a very good job of exactly that. I was able to plug my bass amp DI output to the XLR input and also plug my via audio interface in via a TRS cable. There's a volume control knob at the back which really helps. They are very reasonably priced for such a high quality speaker.
