Mackie 2404VLZ4 mixer

Nice mixer. Pretty straight forward. I bought it new and want to connect it with my rme 802 and ferrofish ae16 . The only thing i find out it that its direct outs are ore eq?. So u could set up the four groups out to the four ins. Its has a usb interface, but i wanted to use de convertors of my Rme interface. I did read many times the manual and finaly i did understand when i wrote about the direct outs that the are ore eq.. I still like the makie sound , its has a clean sound. I did not use the preamps. So this is for me a decision to sell it, because the mackie mixer is built for live sound. So im looking for an alternative mixer. Whas thinking about the allen and heath mixwizard or maybe a soundcraft. If there are members over here please be free and sent me a pm or something

Coming up on my third anniversary with this board. After a couple hundred gigs/rehearsals, I have ZERO problems to report. I uncase it, hook it up, and it works ... every time. I've used it indoors and out, under a variety of conditions. The Onyx preamps are warm, smooth, and predictable. The onboard effects are adequate, for most bar/club applications. The onboard compression is gentle, but effective and allows for cascading without feedback issues. Lastly, the "spread" format was a stroke of pure genius. You can access the controls without accidentally moving their neighbors. Well done, Mackie ... very, very well done.

I thought after all the years I would treat myself to a HIGHER LEVEL mixer and spent the bucks on a 16 channel TOFT. Well, the sound was pretty good but the noise floor was so high I became angry every time is used it. There was a hiss on my vocals and had to use a voice suppressor to mute the hiss. Could not take it anymore for the money I paid... so I returned it and bought this- A Mackie. I had a 24 channel Mackie for about a dozen years and it was good. Decided to buy another and this one did not disappoint. The sound is clean and crisp, but not as grand as the TOFT. I had to play around with the EQ's in my Daw to get close to the sound of the TOFT- BUT- no more HISS on my vocals and the noise floor is almost not there. GOOD BYE TOFT- GOOD BUY FOR A MACKIE.

We purchased a new refurbished mixer and had to return it because the FX 1 & 2 were producing a white noise beyond reasonable acceptance, the noise was accompanied with an electric type of phasing sound. Received a second one with the same problem where FX 1 was not as bad, although still producing noise when put in the unity gain levels and FX 2 ridiculously noticeable, still with a phasing noise and a new added electronic popping about every 30 seconds to at least every 2 minutes we are now waiting to receive a new board instead of refurbished, if the effects are not quiet Mr. Mackie you have a problem !!! The rest of the entire board is scary clean , I love it, quiet, great looking, until you activate the FX. Will the 3rd time be a charm?....... I hope so........

Very easy to set up and run. Sound is very clear. Good range in the volume sliders. Not realy bass heavy like our old board was. I can get a much cleaner and better balanced mix.
