De Yamaha MG12XU bouwt voort op de kwaliteiten van de MG10XU maar biedt meer kanalen en extra routingmogelijkheden. Met maximaal zes microfooningangen, meerdere stereokanalen en twee groepsbussen is deze mixer populair bij bands en kleine podia die net wat meer flexibiliteit nodig hebben. Gebruikers waarderen de vertrouwde D-PRE voorversterkers, die ook hier een heldere en ruisarme klank leveren. De combinatie van ingebouwde SPX-effecten en 1-knops compressie op de belangrijkste kanalen maakt het eenvoudig om snel een bruikbare livesound neer te zetten zonder extra randapparatuur. De stevige metalen behuizing en betrouwbare componenten worden vaak genoemd als reden waarom de MG12XU goed tegen intensief tour- en podiumgebruik kan. Daar staat tegenover dat het formaat en gewicht duidelijk groter zijn dan bij de MG10XU, waardoor hij minder handig is als ultra-compacte oplossing. Daarnaast blijft de USB-interface beperkt tot 2-in/2-uit, wat voor serieuze multitrack-opnames een beperking vormt. Ook bij dit model werken de niveaus met draaiknoppen in plaats van faders, wat niet iedereen prettig vindt. Voor wie vooral live meer kanalen en groepen nodig heeft en betrouwbaarheid belangrijker vindt dan maximale mobiliteit of uitgebreide USB-functies, is de MG12XU echter een veelgeprezen keuze.

As far as I can see so far it’s fabulous, I’m a newbie to this stuff so I’m not the best to comment on everything yet. So far sound quality is excellent and does what it says on the tin. Maybe a true idiots guide/video or comprehensive glossary would helpful for newbies. Help be a little more inclusive for those learning. Delivery company were not good and left my equipment in an abandoned shop doorway, was just lucky I found it. Obviously that’s not the fault of the retailer

I needed a mixer with many stereo inputs as well as enough inputs for my other gear. This checks all the boxes. It’s easy to use, has no unwanted noise, and fits in with the setup. zZounds makes it happen! Musical Background: Many bands. Eclectic music. 20+ years. Musical Style: Grew up on rock, punk, hip hop, and metal. Evolved into world music. Still play everything.
