Bought the SL 1200 GR2 last week from Glasgow Richer Sound and it is fantastic. I replaced a 10 year old Pro-Ject. The Technics is rock solid, this deck is a revelation and totally silent with zero distortion. Very easy to set up straight from the box, the supplied Ortofon 2M Bronze tracks perfectly and sounds incredible through my pro-ject DS tube box.

I purchased this amazing Technics SL 1200 GR2 turntable in silver, which was a present to myself after doing 43 years service for the NHS. So now I can sit back and enjoy this amazing Technics experience and appreciate the sound of vinyl on this beautiful system. Thank you Richer Sounds for a great and knowledgeable team.

This is an absolute dream of a turntable to set up and it sounds absolutely glorious. Don’t confuse this was the regular sl1200 models, the GR2 is a cut above. The thing weighs a Tonne and the quality gives a real ‘pride of ownership’ feeling. Thanks to Toby who was a lovely chap and demonstrated the usual great Richer service.

When I started looking into upgrading my current turntable setup, I was looking at reviews for both the Rega Planar 6 and the Technics SL-1210GR2. I liked the simple appearance of the Rega but the practical features of the Technics, and the ease of adjustment of settings like the tone arm height and being able to quickly change stylus and cartridge with the removable headshell. The quality and build of the Technics is fantastic and the direct drive motor is totally silent. I’m really happy with my purchase and definitely made the correct choice.

I’m relatively new to vinyl and I did a good bit of research between this, the sl1300g, and the sl1200g. Glad I went with the sl1200gr2. It’s not the holy grail of turntables but it’s great value for the price point. It’s a solid product for taking a peek into the audiophile heaven.
