AVM FRITZ!Box 7490: WLAN-router met geïntegreerde DSL-modem

could not get it to work on my BT line! I am well converse with networking but this refused to sync with my isp. I could use it as a router but not the modem feature on it so to me it was useless. Had to return!

Deze modem-router is door de provider geleverd doet het in principe prima maar wil wel eens traagheid vertonen. met het beheren is het lastig dat je niet makkelijk een export van de gebruikers kan maken, en dat er op zijn minst iedere gebruiker 3 keer kan vinden.

Bought the 7590 but inadvertently got the German version. Sent it back but the 7590 international versions were all out of stock, so I dropped down to the 7490 international. It does what I need it for (emailing any voicemails to me) but the build quality is not nearly as good as the 7590. That said, it is cheaper so you get what you pay for I suppose. Works fine, so no issues there.

I purchased this router in March 2017 and after setting it up for my broadband connection it worked fairly reliably to start off with. The DECT phone system and answering machine function was useful. The Fritz!Fon app is a little troublesome to use on an Android phone so just stuck to the handsets. Then a few weeks ago the router started dropping out connections for a few minutes at a time. The 3 weeks ago the 7490 lost the broadband and was unable to synchronise at all. Contacted AVM support and had to send all the settings and log files. My old router worked perfectly on the same line and with the same filter etc. The issue was not resolved by AVM after a few emails I seemed to loose contact. So I guess I've got a rather expensive red piece plastic now.

Highly recommended, I've had one at home for about a year and love it. Easy to use and loads of useful features. It's not cheap but that's because it's good and it works.
