De Suunto 9 Peak Pro Zwart valt op door zijn lange batterijduur, robuuste bouw en veelzijdigheid met meer dan 95 sportmodi. De GPS is zeer accuraat en het horloge is geschikt voor zware omstandigheden, inclusief zwemmen en snorkelen. De bediening is snel en het scherm is goed afleesbaar, maar de hartslagmeting aan de pols is niet altijd betrouwbaar bij intensief sporten. Ook ontbreken multiband GPS, offline kaarten en muziekopslag, wat bij sommige concurrenten wel aanwezig is. De magnetische oplader kan makkelijk losraken, wat soms tot onderbroken opladen leidt. Voor sporters die betrouwbaarheid, duurzaamheid en veelzijdigheid zoeken, is dit horloge een sterke keuze, maar wie maximale smartwatchfuncties of top-GPS-nauwkeurigheid wil, moet deze punten overwegen.

The Suunto 9 Peak is a high-end fitness watch that looks more stylish, and weighs less, than the competition. That had better sound appealing, though, because rivals offer more reliable stats, broader features and slicker software.

Despite packing a plethora of fitness features and excellent battery life in a slimline, military-grade form factor, the Suunto 9 Peak Pro doesn’t quite cut it as a super-premium, rugged smartwatch. While it performs very well in terms of fitness tracking, with some useful training tools, the price point doesn’t accurately reflect what’s on offer here. The interface could do with sharpening up and the display leaves much to be desired. If you're looking for a top-notch, premium sports watch, you might be better off paying a little more for a superior offering from Garmin or Polar.
