De Philips TAB5309 soundbar biedt krachtig 240W geluid en diepe bas dankzij de draadloze subwoofer. Met Dolby Digital Plus en DTS Virtual:X ervaar je een indrukwekkend surround-effect zonder extra speakers. De soundbar is eenvoudig te verbinden via HDMI ARC, Bluetooth 5.4, optisch, USB en AUX. Vier EQ-modi en dialoogverbetering zorgen voor een optimale luisterervaring bij films, muziek of nieuws. Bediening kan via de afstandsbediening of de Philips Home Entertainment app. Nadelen zijn het ontbreken van WiFi, slechts één HDMI-poort en geen mogelijkheid tot uitbreiding met extra draadloze speakers. Dit maakt het een sterke keuze voor wie goed geluid en eenvoudige bediening zoekt, maar minder geschikt voor wie uitgebreide connectiviteit of multiroom wenst.

Performance from this soundbar is disappointing. There is hardly any bass from the sub unless you have the whole system on an unbearably loud volume, and the step between volume when you turn it up or down is huge at the lower end (ie the lowest volume setting is really low, the next one up is too loud - there needs to be a few levels in between). To get around this when I need a lower volume (early morning or late at night), I have watched TV with the soundbar switched off. However, it keeps switching itself on, causing me to miss a few seconds of dialogue from the show I am watching and the suddenly being too loud. I am looking at returning this and exchanging for a different brand.

The Philips sound bar is ok and better than the Philips TV speakers but it hasn’t blown me away to be honest.

Well I think the sound quality is marginally improved; the main horizontal speaker is audible and you can see it responds to the remote; the base speaker however, which is paired using Bluetooth may as well be disconnected as does not appear to do anything audible.

Purchased for our bedroom Television to boost audio for movies and drama. At first installation, I was a little disappointed in the sound from the bar as the subwoofer had been placed beside the bed. I knew it was picking up something as I could feel the vibrations on the underside of the sub. However, after managing to read the microscopic manual instructions, I realised that the sub needs to be placed within 3 feet of the speaker. Hey presto, a lovely warm sound. So, now very pleased with this purchase but a star is taken off for the very poor instructions. The Bluetooth connection is excellent and the speaker syncs with the TV through the HDMI ARC channel so that the speaker switches on from standby automatically when the TV is turned on. The soundbar and sub also connects with my echo pop which is great as I like to listen to radio 3 first thing in the morning and the system handles the sound really well.

Voor een soundbar vind ik het eigenlijk heel erg goed qua geluid en mooi qua design. De afstandsbediening erbij is ook handig als je niet constant naar de soundbar wil lopen. De interface op de soundbar is helder en makkelijk. Meerdere aansluit opties dus gewoon goed :-)
