Nikon Monarch 5 16X56

These binoculars are super clear and super powerful. A great piece of kit for a whole host of different purposes.

Ocular lenses are close together. Image very good but they will not suit everyone and you need to try before you buy. If they fit you you will be pleased.

The Nikon Monarch 5 8x56 is undoubtedly a very solid piece of equipment and the result in our test confirms that. It has many advantages, it managed to avoid plenty of obvious slip-ups and its ‘cons’ list is mercifully short, consisting of just minor flaws. Overall the binoculars seem to be completely recommendable; that positive opinion is only spoiled by the result of the Monarch 8.5x56 which was even better.

Vooral voor astronomisch gebruik, sterren kijken is echt een plezier. Stil houden gaat best goed ondanks dat 16x eigenlijk 'te veel' is. Zelfs je kunt heel klein de ring van Saturnus zien en ook de banden op Jupiter. De Maan is ook goed te zien en veel dubbelsterren zijn te onderscheiden. Nevels en sterrenhopen zien er erg mooi uit.
