Genuinely useful, and remarkable for their size. These are sold as opera glasses notrmally which explains their measly 4x magnification. However the quality of the optics is genuinely outstanding and the 4x magnification is not as useless in day-to-day use as you might imagine. They are featherweight, in fact almost weightless. I would think twice at the price listed here but if you search internet auction sites you will find these for a fraction of this cost even after VAT and duty (c. total £100) from sellers in Japan.

Had bought a cheap pair of opera glasses and regretted it. You definitely get what you pay for, so I decided to opt for the Nikons. Very well engineered, compact and light with superb optics. Only small criticism would be the focussing wheel which is slightly awkward to grip when trying to focus, just because they are so compact. Expensive - yes, but you do get what you pay for.

The optics of this device are great, that is a given, it is made by Nikon. It is light in weight and about the same size as chunky mobile phone, it has a cute case. One of the reasons that I bought it is the unusually close focus distance, less than a metre, and so it is good for use in museums as a gallery scope.
