De Sony FX30 is een Cinema Line camera met een APS‑C Super 35 sensor van 26 megapixel voor foto’s en ongeveer 20 megapixel voor video. De camera filmt in 4K tot 120 beelden per seconde en gebruikt een 5‑assig beeldstabilisatiesysteem in de sensor. Beelden worden opgeslagen op twee sleuven voor SD UHS‑II en CFexpress Type A kaarten. De body weegt circa 646 gram en heeft een 3 inch vari-angle scherm, maar geen ingebouwde zoeker.

THe FX30 is video-focused, and is a great upgrade from a camcorder for producing professional-looking corporate, wedding, event, and charity videos at a high standard with interchangeable lenses.

A lovely handy camera, great to use for wedding photography & video as I do for a living. Very disappointing however that after spending such a lot of money on a good camera, there is not even a strap in the box. Sadly I am now using my FX 30 with a canon strap that I used from an older camera which I no longer use.

I have just bought this camera and am totally delighted with it. With it's discreet size, I can take this camera to places where a bigger one would not be permitted. It is brodcast quality. I am a TV & Film Cameraman with 50 years experience in the industry, including 3 years in Hollywood, where I shot one of the first Feature Films to be digitally originated
